Kathryn BauchelleVp of Programs & Partnerships

Kathryn Bauchelle

Kathryn has a background in education and languages, with degrees in language acquisition, literature, and education from the University of Sydney, Australia. She worked as a teacher of foreign languages and English literature in high schools in Australia and the UK, and served as a Head of Faculty for Modern Languages for six years. Her work with the Jubilee Debt Campaign, a London-based NGO, fueled her interest in social justice and community work, leading her to volunteer as an ESL tutor with Literacy Advance following her move to the United States in 2008.

She joined the staff in 2009 as the Volunteer Manager, and served in this role for almost two years before becoming Program Director in 2011. In late 2017 she moved into the role of VP of Programs & Partnerships, working closely with both Programs and Development staff at Literacy Advance.

She most recently served as Program Director with the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County, where she grew experience in areas such as tutor training and support, student registration and assessment, program evaluation, student transitions, and community partnerships. In her role with Literacy Advance, Colleen supports adult learners and volunteer tutors through program development and delivery. She joined the team in late 2017.

One of the longest-serving members of the Literacy Advance staff, Diana served as both Student Coordinator and Wilcrest Program Manager, before moving to the newly created Transition Coach role in 2013. In this role, she focuses on connecting students to other services and training, particularly to work-related opportunities.
