Support from across the community, and partnerships with many different organizations and businesses, make the growth and success of our literacy programs possible.
Literacy Advance has many Outreach Program Partnerships, allowing literacy classes to take place at other locations and people who would otherwise not be served to enroll in classes. Partners include Houston-area schools, non-profits and other agencies dedicated to the well-being of the community.
Program Sponsors help make it all happen! We are very grateful for their ongoing assistance; their donations and support help sponsor interns, start new programs, extend our reach in the community and transform lives and communities through the doorway of literacy.
Literacy Advance is proud to be affiliated with, or accredited through, a number of other organizations. We thank these affiliates for their endorsement and support!
“If you help a person to read, then their opportunities in life will be endless.” This is a belief held by former First Lady Barbara Bush.
It’s this belief that intertwines the missions of Literacy Advance of Houston and its partner, The Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation.
The Bush family established the foundation as a charitable organization in 2013, focused on improving the quality of life for Houston residents through the power of literacy.
Co-chaired by Neil and Maria Bush, the foundation advocates for literacy as a fundamental right of everyone and a foundational skill towards success in life.
Thanks to our partnership with The Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, Literacy Advance has been able to expand our program offerings for students at our main campus on Wilcrest, our Bay Area campus in Clear Lake and our outreach offerings.
Literacy Advance is proud to partner with The Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation in order to transform the lives and communities through the doorway of literacy.
