Literacy Advance of Houston largely depends on the support of the Houston community. Our free programs, which benefit thousands of individuals every year, continue to grow and flourish because of the hundreds of volunteers, donors, Business Community Partners and other supporters who are committed to furthering our cause. Literacy Advance receives no government funding and depends solely on the generosity of private organizations and individuals.

“If you can’t communicate with people, you can’t find a job. If you can’t find a job, you can’t start your life” said Gwen, a Literacy Advance student.
This fact drives Literacy Advance partner Bank of America's ongoing investment in Houston’s growing workforce. Bank of America understands that people need education and training to tackle 21st century jobs.
Bank of America is committed to connecting people to employment opportunities and success.
Thanks to our partnership with Bank of America, Gwen was able take workforce training classes, get resume help from our Transition Coach, and find work. Today she has a new career and couldn’t be more excited!
Literacy Advance is proud to partner with Bank of America to keep creating a more skilled workforce in Houston.
